Energy Efficiency debate organized

The Development Finance Agency (AFD), the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development and the Vice-Ministry of Mines and Energy are organising the Webinar “Energy Efficiency in the Industrial Sector SMEs in Paraguay” to be held on 13 May 2021 at 16:00 hs in Asuncion.

The event aims to bring together national and international experts, specialists in energy efficiency from the industrial sector and civil society, in order to present local and regional experiences to discuss how to remove barriers and enhance energy efficiency investments in SMEs.

The change of technology and efficient use of energy are considered among the most effective measures, in the short and medium term, to achieve: in industries, reduce costs, and improve competitiveness in general; at the country level, help to significantly reduce CO2e emissions that are contributing to climate change and its negative effects on the country.

Among the topics presented will be the Energy Efficiency Business and Markets, Industrial Modernization and Regulations Encouraging Change. AFD management will present financial tools provided by AFD to boost the sector.

On the other hand, topics on Risks and Problem Mitigators will be presented as a proposed solution.
