There is joint work under process between Germany and Mexico within the International Climate Change Initiative (IKI for its acronym in German), fostered by the German Federal Ministry of Environment, Nature Protection, Public Works and Nuclear Safety. The IKI initiative in Mexico is developing 40 projects, including global, regional and national initiatives, which are coordinated by more than 15 organizations, including the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB). With the assistance of the IDB, the Mexican climate finance strategy is being strengthened, focused on the work with 4 development institutions: FIRA, BANOBRAS, SHF and BANCOMEXT. Through this initiative, the development of green bonds, green finance and the design of credit lines aimed at promoting sustainability and mitigation of climate change are being promoted.
