Mexico has the opportunity to be a leader in financial innovation and sustainable transport, through long-term economically feasible projects, according to experts from The Association of Banks of Mexico (ABM), Banco Nacional de Obras y Servicios Publicos (Banobras), Inter-American Development Bank (IADB), and the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC). These issues were discussed during the ‘Financial Innovation for Sustainable Transport Lab’ held in Mexico City, Mexico.

The workshop was an opportunity to examine the role of national development banks in accelerating public and private investment in sustainable transport infrastructure in the country. In addition the purpose of the Lab was to strengthen cooperation between financial entities, technology providers and public and private institutions to promote investments to address climate change.
