The event will focus on the current state of the energy transition in emerging markets, with an emphasis on clean energy investment. A high-level roundtable will explore the role enhanced financial intermediation can play in mobilizing untapped domestic and international investor pools for the energy transitions of emerging markets ahead of COP26.
Three main questions will guide the roundtable:
• Which experience can be drawn on in mobilizing climate finance via financial intermediation?
• Which mature intermediation options already exist and which could be further scaled?
• Which bottlenecks currently constrain large-scale intermediation and how could they be mitigated?
