The governments of Argentina, Barbados, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Panama and the Dominican Republic co-organise the ” Dialogue on Climate Action in the Americas”, which will take place on September 8 from 10 a.m. Argentinean time (GMT-3) in three segments that will feature a high-level debate with presidential participation, technical panel discussions and a ministerial roundtable.

The meeting seeks to promote dialogue to foster ambition and emphasise the urgency of climate action in the Americas, promote the design of innovative mechanisms for means of implementation and encourage cooperation for adaptation and resilience in the continent.

Given the scientific evidence presented by the recent IPCC report on August, and in line with the Paris Agreement, it is necessary to increase the political relevance of the climate agenda. This agenda, while presenting a huge challenge, also opens up opportunities for collaboration to promote ambition and a resilient and sustainable post-pandemic economic recovery.

The event will be broadcast on the YouTube Channel of the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development of Argentina and on various official YouTube channels of the co-organising countries.
