On April 28, 2014, the Banco Central do Brasil (BACEN) published Resolution nº 4.327, which requires all institutions under its supervision to design and implement a Social and Environmental Responsibility Policy (PRSA). The resolution establishes that PRSAs should entail adequate principles and guidelines to drive the institutions’ social and environmental initiatives within their business and relationship with stakeholders and should provide strategic initiatives in terms of governance, in particular regarding the management of social and environmental risks.
The IDB is providing support to the Brazilian Association of Development Banks (ABDE) and their member institutions to comply with the resolution through different activities, such as the organization of this workshop.
