Brazilian Edition: Bonds and climate change – The State of the Market 2017 . Portuguese Version
SUMMARY: The Brazilian market for green bonds has already exceeded 11 billion reais issued by domestic companies, according to the second edition of Market Analysis of Debt and Climate Change Securities. Since June 2015 (when BRF inaugurated this market) until September 2017, 9 Brazilian green bonds were issued, five of them in the international market. The Global Debt Securities and Climate Change Market Review is an annual Climate Bonds Initiative commissioned by HSBC. The Brazilian chapter was written in partnership with SITAWI, specialist in sustainable finance in Brazil, and sponsored by the Inter-American Development Bank. The study was launched on Wednesday, October 4, at the São Paulo headquarters of the Mattos Filho law firm and had a live broadcast. The report shows the landscape of the green bonds in the world, trends and opportunities for growth and market development.
