CIFI, a major non-bank financial institution in Latin America and the Caribbean specializing in infrastructure and energy financing, has entered the capital market with the registration of a green bond issuance program for an aggregate amount of 200 million dollars. With this first issue of Panamanian green bonds, CIFI joins the global trend for the financing of responsible and sustainable projects, offering investors the opportunity to participate in double impact projects, financial and environmental. The funds are planned to be applied to investments in waste management, waste water, waste recycling, co-generation, wind, solar and geo-thermal energy, as well as hydro projects under 25 MW, fostering mitigation of social and environmental risks.
