Argentina advances in the Agreement for Climate Action
02/28/2023 Since 1 year

Within the framework of the “Agreement for Climate Action” public-private platform oriented towards Argentina’s resilience and carbon neutrality by the year 2050, a meeting was held at the University of Buenos Aires, with the aim of generating a dialogue space with technology companies involved in climate change.

Participating entities include the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development, through the Secretariat for Climate Change, Development and Innovation and the R+D+i Agency (National Agency for the Promotion of Research, Technological Development and Innovation), in addition to the companies Keclon, Infira, Ergo, Einsted and Dynami.

The Agreement for Climate Action consists of a platform that seeks to consolidate a road map from a shared vision to advance in the achievement of Paris Agreement objectives. The proposal was designed to recognize the work carried out by the private sector in climate matters, as well as its role as a key partner for the fulfillment of national goals, strategies and measures established in the National Plan for Adaptation and Mitigation to Climate Change (known as PNAyMCC). It consists of five main lines of work: 1) capacity building for climate action; 2) voluntary reporting of climate initiatives and plans in the National Information System on Climate Change; 3) climate action in corporate social responsibility (CSR) strategies; 4) dialogues for the articulation of climate priorities in value chains; and 5) dialogues on carbon markets.
